Sue and Pete welcome you to Fern Cottage, Award Winning Bed and Breakfast. We're a smallholding set in 2 acres of conservation/greenbelt area, with panoramic views, yet only 15 minutes from the centre of Bath and Bristol. Our passion is good food and guests can enjoy an exceptional quality breakfast, using local, home grown, home made and organic produce. We have four double bedrooms with en-suites (two with king size beds), all with panoramic countryside views. Three rooms are in the stable block overlooking the wildlife field and the fourth room is situated at the rear of the cottage. Each room has it’s own separate entrance. Our beautiful accommodation reflects the high standard of quality, attention to detail and offers affordable luxury which is complemented by excellent food and service. We're in an ideal place to see the many local attractions in the West Country, such as Bath, Bristol, Lacock, Castle Combe, Tyntesfield, Dyrham Park, Longleat, Stonehenge, Slimbridge, the Cotswolds and Cheddar. We also offer guests Thermae Spa tickets with a 10% discount. We specialise in giving our guests an exceptional and extensive breakfast menu complimented on by top Chefs Gary Rhodes and Michael Caines on the UKTV Local Food Heroes programme, for using only local/home grown/home made/seasonal and organic produce. Scroll down the page to see the U Tube video of Sue cooking for the two chefs. We can also provide guests with "Evening Meals" using local/home made/home grown and seasonal produce. Our evening meals are available in the Guests' Dining Room. Just bring your own wine! See our current menu on "Evening Meals" page. Sunday evening we do a roast beef or chicken dinner. If you would like to find out more please do not hesitate to call or email us. We are able to cater for any dietary requirements, such as coeliacs or vegetarians. Our web site is quite extensive and hopefully you will find it of interest when making your decision about where to stay for that special break away. Sue and Pete |

Fern Cottage was one of 5 companies from the whole of the South West to have reached Finalists in the UKTV Food Local Food Hero and the only Bed and Breakfast business to have ever been included in the competiton. We had the excitement of Michael Caines OBE and film crew, spend 6 1/2 hours with us filming Sue cooking. We then went to Plymouth and cooked our Baked Egg and Heavenly Devilled Pigs Kidneys on Hot Buttered Toast Specials for Gary Rhodes. See the video below. This prestigious award pays tribute to people like us who go that extra mile to bring fantastic local food to your shopping bags, homes and pub and breakfast and restaurant tables. |
