Fern Cottage Evening Meals

If you’re arriving late, too tired to eat out, or just want to relax, why not enjoy an evening meal served in the comfort of our “Guests Dining Room”.  Evening meals for the night of your arrival need to be pre-ordered prior to your arrival at Fern Cottage as we have to purchase items from our local producers (we need at least 2 days notice).  Guests wanting evening meals during their stay can pre- order during their stay at Fern Cottage (the night beforehand). 

All you need to do is to bring your own bottle of wine, then sit back and relax!  Wine glasses and a bottle opener are provided in your room/dining room table.

 Fern Cottage Evening Meal Menu

Our main evening meal selection is available in the guest’s dining room all week between at 7.00 pm

Light meals/snacks can be served in guests' rooms on a butlers tray or eaten in the guests' dining room and are available between 7pm and 9pm all week, except Sunday.

Friday Night Menu

Roast Breast of Chicken, chips and salad £11.95

Using free range chicken breast from Cotswold Edge Farm Shop (homegrown salad when available)

or

Steak. Chips and Mushrooms  £11.95

British Sirloin steak with chips and sauted mushrooms

Saturday Night Menu

Venison casserole with roasted garlic and potato mash £11.95

Local Wild Red Deer from the Duke of Beaufort's Estate (20 minutes away) or Dyrham Park's Fallow deer (when in season) with roasted garlic mash potato using Edgar's local potatoes (when in season) 

or

Country Pork Parcels with white wine and seasonal veg £11.95

Local free range pork from Jamie's Farm baked with white wine, mushrooms, bacon and cream in a foil parcel with seasonal vegetables) with roasted garlic mashed potato (using Edgar's local potatoes (when in season)

Sunday Night Menu

Roast Chicken Dinner £11.95 per person (only available on a Sunday)

Roast Cotswold Edge Free Range chicken breast, stuffed with homemade sage and onion stuffing, fresh seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire pudding (made with our own eggs)

or

Roast Pork Dinner £11.95 per person (only available on a Sunday)

Roast Pork chop from Jamie's Farm with homemade sage and onion stuffing, fresh seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire pudding (made with our own eggs)

 

Lighter meals/Snacks (available all week except Sundays)

Cheese Ploughmans (for 1 person) £8.95

Using three locally produced cheeses from Frome Valley Farm Shop

Stilton, Cheddar and Somerset Brie cheese, kettle crisps (or Pucklechurch Bakery white or granary farmhouse thick sliced bread), homemade chutney, grapes, apple and salad (homegrown when available)

Sandwiches (for 1 person) £6.95

Egg Mayonnaise using our own eggs, kettle crisps, on white or granary farmhouse thick sliced bread with salad garnish

Cheese/homemade Chutney, kettle crisps on white or granary farmhouse thick sliced bread with salad garnish

Ham and mustard/or homemade chutney, kettle crisps on white or granary farmhouse thick sliced bread with salad garnish

Please note, all the above is subject to availability – in the event of us not being able to acquire an ingredient, a similar item will be substituted.
