Sue Cooking for Chef Michael Caines O.B.E and Gary Rhodes

Fern Cottage was one of 5 companies from the whole of the South West to have reached Finalists in the UKTV Food Local Food Hero programme and the only Bed and Breakfast business to have ever been included in the competiton.  We had the excitement of Michael Caines OBE and film crew, spend 6 1/2 hours with us filming Sue cooking.  We then went to Plymouth and cooked our Baked Egg and Heavenly Devilled Pigs Kidneys on Hot Buttered Toast Specials for Gary Rhodes. See the video below. This prestigious award pays tribute to people like us who go that extra mile to bring fantastic local food to your shopping bags, homes, pubs, bed and breakfast and restaurant tables.

Ruth Watson Means Business

We were contacted by the Ruth Watson programme "Ruth Watson Means Business!!" to see if we would like to be exemplars of how it should be done as they were filming a Tea Room in Bradford on Avon who had received critical reviews on TripAdvisor about various topics, from the quality of their scones, using plastic tablecloths and paper serviettes etc.  During filming the couple from the tea rooms tasted my home made scones, home made jam and local organic Jersey clotted cream.
